Engie
Turning a brand channel into appointment viewing
Analysis, strategy, content and media: since 2024, Mobsuccess has supported Engie's consumer YouTube channel. Subscribers, watch time and organic views are all growing.
The context
Engie is a French energy group present in around thirty countries. Its consumer YouTube channel, “J’agis avec ENGIE”, has more than 600,000 subscribers and more than two hundred videos.
An energy brand talks about a subject nobody looks up of their own accord: consumption, equipment, everyday habits. The reflex is to explain; the risk is that nobody watches.
So the question was one of audience: how do you turn a brand channel into somewhere people come back to, rather than a shelf of tutorials?
What we did
Mobsuccess has supported the channel since 2024, across the same four stages: analysis, strategy, content, media.
Two registers sit side by side. Long formats, handed to creators and filmed in their homes (the escape game “Escape The Grid” lasts half an hour and is played in pairs), which establish the channel as appointment viewing rather than a resource.
And short formats that answer practical questions, under the “Allo ENGIE!” banner: how to choose a heat pump, what green electricity is. Both registers feed the same channel, and media is used to back what works.
Results
In two years, the channel has become somewhere people come back to.
- An audience that settles in and subscribes to the channel.
- Watch time growing faster than views.
Two formats, one channel
The most-watched video in each register: the escape game handed to creators, and the practical answer under the “Allo ENGIE” banner.
